Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, is the only political leader who after being appointed to be a speaker of the parliament did something that no other politician did till now.
The politician was appointed as speaker of the parliament, formally resigned from his political party in 1967. He did so to be fair and impartial to the political parties.
He also had the achievement of becoming the only speaker who was later unanimously elected as the President of India.
Reddy became deputy chief minister of Andhra State in 1953 and the first Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in 1956.
