To get success, everyone has to face a bit of failure and that is the only thing that tests a human’s patience to stick with the things we love and want in Life. One such failure story is of Indian Cinema Star R Madhavan, the simplest actor of this millennium.
After his sandalwood commercial in 1997, R Madhavan was called for an audition by film producer Mani Ratnam. He gave the tryout for a role within the film ‘Iruvar’, A political drama loosely based on the relationship between cinema and politics in Tamil Nadu. However got rejected as Ratnam thought his eyes looked too young for a senior role.
Although, this was not his attempt for the silver screen, before giving the audition for Iruvar, he did two uncredited guest appearances in Movies Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin as Club singer, “Chup” song and a minor role in Inferno aka Operation Cobra.
Later he got his first Lead role in a Kannada film referred to as Shanti Shanti Shanti, in which he acted as the second lead to Abbas.
Finally, he got his break into his first Tamil movie Alaipayuthey, in which his work was critically acclaimed by the audience and the critics. For Alaipayuthey, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut – South. After this, till now he has performed in more than 50 movies and have won hearts of many viewers.
